Hot Melt Butyl Sealant For Insulating Glass

Hot melt butyl sealant for insulating glass
  • Product Description

Hot Melt Butyl Sealant For Insulating Glass (Polyisobutylene) is a hot melt type single component primary seal sealant for insulating glass (or double glazing). The main material of hot melt butyl sealant is polyisobultylene adhesive.

Butyl sealant can be applied within a wide temperature range and have great performance of its plasticity and air and water tightness. After application, no crack on the surface of hot melt butyl and it doesn’t turn hard. Because of its extreme low water vapor transmittance rate, it can creates a perfect moisture resistance system together with usage of silicone sealant.

  • Suitable with commonly used insulating glass butyl extruders in the market.

  • Application Range

Hot Melt Butyl Sealant (Polyisobutylene) is used as a primary seal sealant for double glazing or triple sealed insulating glass. It is used to prevent moisture vapor transmission into the airspace. For insulating glass secondary sealing, we suggest to use two parts silicone sealant or two parts structural silicone sealant or two parts polysulfide sealant.

See below double glazing diagram.
